As a private equity fund manager, we focus on investment opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are the sub-advisor to the Grand Towers Africa Property Fund I domiciled and listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. The fund’s objective is to achieve superior long-term returns primarily by making privately negotiated equity and equity-related investments in retail properties in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Actuarial Consulting
Through our team of dedicated professionals, we provide a range of actuarial consulting services and solutions to the Nigerian market. We have proven skills in the field of national pension system reform and, from 1999 to 2004, Novare® provided a team of 28 actuaries to assist the UK in their national Pension Review calculations, which required individual reserve value calculations for members of defined benefit schemes.
Since 2002, Novare® has also supported the review of South African pension fund legislation which required valuations of all retirement funds in the country.
Novare®’s actuaries are members of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries in England or Scotland, or the Actuarial Society of South Africa. As “associates and fellows” of these societies they are bound by the professional framework of the profession, which allows them to operate in Nigeria.

Pension Fund Asset Management
Novare has a 30% stake in First Guarantee Pension Limited in Nigeria where we are driving a process aimed at strengthening the investment capacity of the company whose vision is to be a reputable company of real wealth creation within Nigeria.
First Guarantee Pension Limited, an asset management company, is licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to manage and invest pensions on behalf of public and private sector employees. Novare® supports First Guarantee Pension Limited in all aspects of their business, with specific focus on operational processes, technical input on fund accounting, staff training, investment processes and decision making, risk management as well as information technology.

Alternative Investments
Novare is a pioneer in the construction of alternative investment portfolios. We have a team managing funds of funds in the South African hedge fund industry and we also publish the authoritative Novare® Investments South African Hedge Fund Survey each year.
Our alternative investments team manages one of the most established institutional fund of hedge funds, the Mayibentsha® Fund of Funds, which was launched in April 2003. Our offering incorporates a well-defined portfolio management process, a strong focus on risk management, access to new as well as established managers, and a team with seven years experience in evaluating hedge fund managers.
The Mayibentsha® Opportunities Fund was awarded the "HFMWeek Top Fund of Funds emerging markets" in October 2009 in New York.
Two Mayibentsha® Funds were nominated for the "Best Fund of Funds" during the 2010 HedgeNews Africa Awards.
